Welcome to SognosCare Mental Health
Personal Counselling
Connects individuals with a dedicated Mental Health Care Professional for tailored one-on-one support. Using a outcome-focused approach, we ensure personalised care through in-person or virtual sessions.
NEIS Program
It provides CBT sessions via phone or video with self-help tools, aiming to assist over 150,000 Australians annually and expand access to mental health care.
Helping Others
This feature allows you to request support for someone else by registering them through our system. A Mental Health Care Professional then assesses and coordinates the right support services for their needs.
Caring for your mental health doesn't always mean big changes. Small, consistent actions can create meaningful improvements over time. Here are five simple ways you can support your wellbeing each day:
- Start your day with a moment of quiet. Before checking your phone or rushing into tasks, take 60 seconds to breathe, stretch, or just sit with your thoughts.
- Drink a glass of water. It may sound small, but hydration can positively affect your mood, energy, and focus.
- Get a little sunlight or fresh air. Even 5–10 minutes outdoors can reset your body clock, lift your spirits, and help with sleep later.
- Name one feeling. Pause in your day and ask yourself, "What am I feeling right now?" Naming emotions helps build awareness and resilience.
- Do one kind thing—for yourself or someone else. It could be making your bed, sending a kind message, or resting when you need it. Kindness has a ripple effect, even when it starts with you.
You don’t need to be perfect. Just start where you are.
It can be hard to tell when it's time to ask for help. Mental health doesn’t follow clear rules, but here are some gentle signs that reaching out might help:
- You feel overwhelmed more days than not.
- You're withdrawing from people or things you usually enjoy.
- You find it hard to concentrate, sleep, or eat regularly.
- You feel stuck in thoughts that make life harder, not easier.
- You're coping with big changes, loss, or uncertainty.
If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone. Support doesn’t have to mean formal therapy right away. It can be a friend, a helpline, a self-guided program, or even this very platform.
The first step doesn’t need to be a big one. Just a step. And it counts.
When it comes to mental health, there's no single "right" way to get support. Just like our experiences are unique, so are the paths to feeling better.
Some people find comfort in talking to a professional. Others start with journaling, mindfulness, or connecting with peers. Some need space and information before they open up. All of these are okay.
It’s okay to ask questions, to try different options, and to move at your own pace. Whether you’re exploring community programs, reading articles like this, or using a chatbot to check in, it all counts.
You have a say in what support looks like. You're allowed to choose. And you’re allowed to change your mind.
You don’t have to fit into a box. Support can fit you.
1. What is NEIS?
Q: What is NEIS?
NEIS stands for Needs and Early Intervention Support. It is a program that helps people who are going through difficult emotional or mental situations. If you're feeling anxious, depressed, lonely, confused, or simply not yourself — NEIS is here to listen, support, and help you feel better. It is a government-supported service, so you don't have to worry about money or being judged. Think of NEIS as a helping hand when you need one the most.
2. Am I Eligible for NEIS?
Q: Who can apply for NEIS?
NEIS is for anyone who is struggling with their mental or emotional health and needs support. You might be a student, unemployed, a young person, or someone just feeling low — and that's okay. NEIS does not require you to be diagnosed with a mental illness. If you feel like life is getting harder to manage, NEIS can help. There may be a short screening to make sure you get the right kind of support, but it's simple and kind — not a test.
3. How Do I Apply for NEIS?
Q: How can I join or apply to NEIS?
You can apply through a short conversation here or by filling out a small form. I'll ask you some easy questions about how you're feeling and what's going on in your life. Once that's done, a trained support person will be assigned to talk to you, guide you, and find the best help for you. If you want, we can start this process right now.
4. How Will NEIS Help Me?
Q: What can NEIS do for me?
NEIS can:
- Listen to your problems without judging.
- Help you understand what you're going through.
- Connect you with a support worker or therapist.
- Support you in managing stress, anxiety, sadness, or other emotional struggles.
- Guide you through steps to feel better.
You're not alone — NEIS walks with you every step of the way.
5. What Services Does NEIS Offer?
Q: What kind of help or support can I get from NEIS?
NEIS offers different kinds of support depending on what you need:
- Emotional support: Someone to talk to who listens.
- Counseling: Help from a mental health expert.
- Life guidance: Help with school, job stress, or family situations.
- Planning for recovery: Setting small goals to get better over time.
Everything is designed to help you, at your pace.
6. Do I Have to Pay for NEIS?
Q: Is NEIS free?
Yes. NEIS is a free service provided by the government. You do not need to pay anything to talk to someone, get guidance, or receive emotional support. You don't need fancy insurance or papers. All you need is the courage to ask for help — and you already did that. That's brave.
7. How Long Does NEIS Take?
Q: When will I start getting help?
Once you apply, someone from the NEIS team will reach out to you as soon as possible. In most cases, it's within a few days. If something is urgent, they may contact you faster. NEIS understands that when you ask for help, you shouldn't have to wait too long. You'll never be forgotten.
8. What If I'm in Crisis or Need Help Right Now?
Q: I feel scared or in danger. What should I do?
If you feel like you're in immediate danger or want to hurt yourself, please don't wait. NEIS can help — but for emergencies, you should call a crisis line or emergency services right away.
You can also:
- Call a mental health helpline.
- Go to the nearest hospital.
- Tell someone you trust nearby.
You matter. Your life matters. You are not a burden.
9. Can I Talk to a Real Person?
Q: Can I speak to a real person?
Yes. Once you share your details, a support worker or counselor will be assigned to you. You can talk to them on phone, video, or face-to-face — whichever feels right for you. I'm here to guide you until that happens.
10. I Still Have Questions
Q: I have more questions about NEIS. Can I ask?
Absolutely. Please type your question, and I will try to help you based on the information shared by the NEIS team. If I don't know the answer, I'll help connect you to someone who does.
11. What to Expect from Your First NEIS Session
Your first NEIS session is designed to be comfortable and informative. You'll meet with a trained professional who will:
- Listen to your concerns without judgment
- Help you understand what you're experiencing
- Work with you to create a personalized support plan
- Answer any questions you have about the process
- Ensure you feel heard and supported throughout
Remember, there's no pressure to share everything at once. You can take your time and share what feels comfortable for you.
12. Building Long-term Mental Wellness
NEIS isn't just about immediate support—it's about building lasting mental wellness. The program helps you develop:
- Better understanding of your mental health patterns
- Practical coping strategies for daily challenges
- Stronger support networks and connections
- Confidence in managing difficult emotions
- Tools for maintaining mental wellness long-term
Think of NEIS as the foundation for a healthier, more resilient future. Every step you take with the program builds your mental health toolkit.
